LJP (Ram Vilas) welcomes approval of FNTA Bill in Nagaland Assembly

DIMAPUR: The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has welcomed the approval of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) Bill by the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, describing it as a significant step towards addressing the longstanding developmental aspirations of the people of Eastern Nagaland.
In a statement issued by National Secretary of the party, the LJP (Ram Vilas), S. Richard Humtsoe, reiterated its consistent support for the FNTA process since the signing of the Tripartite Agreement. “On behalf of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), I wholeheartedly welcome and support this important legislative step,” Humtsoe said.
The statement noted that the signing of the Tripartite Agreement represented a commitment to address the concerns of Eastern Nagaland and that the legislative progress achieved should be viewed in the spirit of peace, partnership, inclusiveness and accelerated development.
Emphasising the party’s belief in equitable opportunities and inclusive growth, Humtsoe said, “Development must reach every region and every section of society, particularly areas that have historically faced geographical, infrastructural and socio-economic challenges.”
The approval of the FNTA Bill was described as an important step towards translating commitments made under the Tripartite Agreement into an effective institutional mechanism for development and empowerment. The party expressed hope that subsequent processes would be carried forward with sincerity, mutual trust, and a clear focus on the welfare of the people.
Humtsoe also appealed to all stakeholders to maintain unity, peace and constructive dialogue so that the aspirations associated with the FNTA framework are fulfilled in a transparent, effective, and time-bound manner.

The party further said that the approval of the FNTA Bill is not merely a legislative development but an opportunity to build a stronger, more inclusive, and balanced Nagaland.
