LJP (RV) unit slams ‘baseless’ charges by NTPRADAO

DIMAPUR, AUG 21 (NPN)

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) of Pughoboto unit has strongly condemned what it dubbed as “baseless and malicious allegations” made against Dr. Sukhato A. Sema, MLA of 13 Pughoboto assembly constituency and his family by the “so-called” Nagaland Transparency Public Rights Advocacy and Direct Action Organisation (NTPRADAO).
LJP (RV) Pughoboto unit through its media cell asserted that NTPRADAO dragged the name of Dr. Sukhato A. Sema and LJP (RV) linking them with alleged activity of his adult son who hails from another political party.
The party stated that NTPRADAO had gone to the extent of accusing Dr. Sukhato A. Sema of “open defiance, political arrogance, and blatant disregard for law, public discipline and dignity.”
LJP (RV) unit stated that “such ferocious words” used without any credibility or legal basis, exposed the true character of NTPRADAO and its leaders who “thrive on slander and political mudslinging” rather than engaging in constructive criticism.
The party maintained that such derogatory and defamatory remarks were “nothing but a calculated attempt” to malign the image of MLA who represents the people of Pughoboto in 14th NLA with integrity and dedication.
LJP (RV) unit reminded NTPRADAO that “Right to career progression and right to choose and pursue any profession/occupation is a fundamental right” enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
Asserting that individuals were accountable for their own actions, the party has, therefore, stated that dragging an elected MLA and LJP (RV)’s name into an incident concerning an MLA’s son did not hold water. “It is unjust, unfounded and malicious.
The accusation is politically motivated and has no ground in fact or in law,” the unit stated.
Further, LJP (RV) unit described as “utterly baseless” the NTPRADAO charge of “lack of adherence to political ideology”. It stated that every citizen enjoys the freedom to choose their political affiliation in a democratic country.
The unit maintained that independent political choices of family members did not and cannot amount to ideological defection. “To suggest otherwise is both ignorant and irrelevant,” the party stated.
LJP (RV) unit also strongly objected to the “audacity of this organisation” in demanding that LJP (RV) Nagaland unit should write against its own elected MLA to the central leadership. The party said such interference was an outrageous assault on the autonomy, dignity, and democratic functioning of the party. It said it was a smear campaign by “a self-styled group” with no accountability, no legitimacy, and no concern for the truth but “willing to go any extend to gain political mileage!”
LJP (RV) unit reaffirmed its full faith and confidence in the leadership of Dr. Sukhato A. Sema, who, it said has always upheld public discipline, dignity, and democratic values in his public life.
Further, the party rejected the “defamatory and slanderous campaign” being carried out by “vested interest groups led by person of dubious character.”
LJP (RV) Pughoboto unit has warned that repeating “such defamatory and character assassination” would compel the party to explore all legal options to protect the honour and dignity of party and its leaders.
It also cautioned the public to be aware of the “modus operandi” to gain political mileage under the name and style “Nagaland Transparency Public Rights Advocacy and Direct Action Organisation” orchestrated and operated by a person of dubious character.”
