
The Langpangkong Students’ Conference (LKM) Triennial General Conference & Tournament is scheduled to be held from January 8 to 11, 2019 at Akhoya village.
Akhoya village is located between Mokokchung and Tuli town.
The Local Organising Committee of the event, in a press release said that minister, Health & Family Welfare, S. Pangnyu Phom, and additional chief secretary & finance commissioner, Temjen Toy, will grace the occasion as special invitees. Minister, PWD, Tongpang Ozüküm, advisor, Industries & Commerce & NIDC Imnatiba, and Amenba Yaden, MLA, will also grace the four-day event as leaders from Langpangkong. The conference shall deliberate the topic “Bond of Integrity” with secretary to the government of Nagaland, Senti Ao, as the main speaker. Another highlight of the program shall be a the presentation of a drama about the allotment of portfolios in traditional ‘putu menden’ among tatars in the form of meat allocation known as ‘Chungliyimti Shilang’.
This four day tournament shall also witness inter-villages football and volleyball league matches in different play grounds. One of the football grounds is P. Talitemjen Ao ground, named in honour of former Nagaland chief secretary (first IAS officer of Akhoya village from Langpangkong range).
The L. Pangersowa Jamir Trust Award for Academic Excellence and L. L. Yaden Meritorious Scholarship shall also be awarded during the conference.
A veteran football match will also be played among veterans players of Langpangkong.
Beside these, there will be a time of Night Carnival with Lords of Rock, Alica and Red Neck.
A Free Health Camp has also been organized with medical doctors from the Medicine, ENT, Dentist & Gynaecologist departments, in Akhoya village on January 5, 2019 from 10 am. Medicines will be provided free of cost to patients during this medical camp. People who need medical treatment in and around Akhoya village have been requested to avail of this free facility.
