LLIN distributed in Lingrijan, Tuensang & Phek

With an objective to protect people from malaria infection, Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLIN) has been distributed free of cost throughout the state by National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) department under the aegis of government of India.
In continuation of the project, LLIN was distributed to the residents of six sectors under Lengrijan Village, Dimapur on Saturday at Lengrijan Village Council treasurer’s residence.
In a brief distribution programme, LVC chairman, N.Meren Imchen lauded NVBDCP, health & family welfare department, Nagaland for distributing LLIN free of cost to the public. He also encouraged the general public to avail the opportunities provided by the government judiciously for benefit of the village.
The distribution programme was attended by GBs, village council members and officials of CMO office, Dimapur. (Staff Reporter)
TUENSANG: Launching programme of LLIN distribution for Tuensang district was held on February 25 at  CKS Hall Tuensang town, office of the National Vector Borne Disease (NMVBDS). 
Speaking as chief guest deputy commissioner Tuensang, Alem Jonbgshi stressed on the menace of malaria, dengue, je and zika and related vector borne disease. He advised the beneficiaries to utilise the nets properly as directed by the department. 
The programme was chaired by CMO, Dr. T. Pangjung   Sangtam, who also called upon the sector president and community leaders to co-operate positively with the department. 
Keynote address was given NVBDCP Tuensang, Tosoviho, (NVBDCP) while vote of thanks was delivered by MI (NVBDCP) Tuensang, C. Nokching Somba. 
PHEK: District Health Society, Phek launched LLIN distribution programme on February 25 at the CMO conference hall, Phek.
The programme was launched by additional deputy commissioner Phek, Kuko Mero, who also gave away the first LLIN to GB of Bethany 1 Colony Phek, Kuvekhruyi Nienu. The chief guest in his speech appreciated the programme officers and health workers for implementing the programme in the district.
He stated that using of LLIN would not only prevent malaria but also from other deadly vector born diseases such as zika etc. and apprised the participants not to use the net for other purposes.
Mero also urged the ASHAs, VHCs and VCC to cooperate and work sincerely and distribute the LLIN to all household as directed.
District vector borne officer (DVBO) Phek, Dr. Keholi Asumi in her keynote address highlighted the participants on the Dos and Don’ts of LLIN.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Dr. Keholi and invocation was pronounced by laboratory technician, Nuzovolu while vote of thanks was given by DVBD consultant, Khrusayi Khamo. The programme was attended by VCC, VHCs, ASHAs and CMO staff.
