Joint inspection of users of weights, measures, weighing and measuring instruments was conducted by the department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection (LM&CP), Kohima and Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) on October14 and 15 at strategic locations of Kohima town.
A press release from LM&CP Kohima assistant controller Shiloh Kath stated that, LM&CP team was led by Mezo M. Kuotsu, inspector, LMCP, Kohima and KMC by enforcement inspector, Zayie Savi.
The team inspected 338 shops using weights and measures and found that many users of the instruments were yet to verify their instruments for the year 2019-20.
LM&CP therefore has gave a final call for verification of weighing and measuring instruments within the scheduled date to the users and warned of surprise checking and prosecution as per law.
