The department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection (LM&CP), Phek conducted a consumer awareness programme at Government Higher Secondary School, Phek under the theme “rights & responsibilities of consumers” with Vethothi Vero, panel lawyer & assistant project co-ordinator, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Phek as the resource person on October 16.
A press release from LM&CP Phek stated that, Vero spoke in detail about the rights as well as the responsibilities of consumer particularly in dealing with business communities and service providers.
Pamphlets were also distributed to the participants. The programme was chaired by Medongunuo, while Niesakhoyi Venuh invoked God’s blessing. Introductory note was delivered by Shiekhozo, asst. controller LM & CP and concluding remarks was pronounced by Kewetshete Wezah, vice-principal, GHSS, Phek. More than five hundred students and teachers attended the programme.
