One day training for “nutritious kitchen garden” was organised by Life Ministry Learning Centre (LMLC) sponsored by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) for 20 participants from Aoyim Village and Old Showba Village on July 14.
A press release by LMLC stated that during the training, resource person, additional director of agriculture department (retired), B. Nyenghong Phom talked about the benefits of kitchen garden for a healthy living with practical steps on how to maintain a “nutritious kitchen garden” in a backyard.
In the introduction session, LMLC director, Samuel Therieh talked about the importance of natural farming, consuming organic food and being in touch with the soil.
The participants also visited the demo farm and vermi composting unit and learned about the preparation of indigenous micro- organisms, bokashi, rice husk charcoal, vermi composting and bio pesticides.
