The 14th general conference of Lotha Middle Range Students’ Union (LMRSU) hosted by Lotsu village got underway on Thursday.
The inaugural function was graced by advisor, Horticulture and Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan as the chief guest.
In his speech, Yanthan said that middle rage has remarkably produced various talents that has achieved and reached various levels which has been recognised by many.
In order to continue with the trend, he urged the youth to students to dedicate themselves in their assigned duties by maintaining their time properly. He informed them to be part of social movements, however cautioned them to shun away with all social evils that prevail and sabotage the society. He further said that Naga society needed to be transformed by taking up various issues and solving them rather than blaming one another.
Theme speaker Dr.Mhonthung Yanthan, head department of political science St. Joseph’s college (autonomous) Jakhama Kohima, speaking on the theme “Towards a brighter future”, shared five pillars to bring transformation and called the congregation to move forward by refining oneself, with determination, discipline in life and invest hard work with a critical mindset.
In a short speech, Lotha Hoho chairman, Er. Mhondamo Lotha encouraged the congregation to be practical, maintain work culture and give priority to one’s language that signifies one’s identity. LMRPO president, Ntonsi Yanthan called the students to seek God first and respect elders to seek guidance and wisdom from them. Lotha Students’ Union (LSU), president, Ashanthung Humtsoe, in his short speech called the unit presidents to have a sense of responsibility and do research and be practical that can bring changes for an all-round development.
Later, the evening session was graced by special commissioner of state taxes, Nagaland, Mhathung Murry as the special guest.
