Loan delay irks PM Vishwakarma scheme beneficiaries in Phek

DIMAPUR

Beneficiaries of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme from Phek area have raised concerns over difficulties faced in availing loans from the State Bank of India (SBI), Phek branch, despite completing the required training and documentation.
In a representation, the beneficiaries from the 4th and 5th training batches—conducted in February and May 2025 respectively—stated that although they have received their training certificates, ID cards, Udyam registration, and toolkits, they remain uncertain about the loan application process due to lack of guidance from the bank.
The 4th batch reportedly received loans on May 2, with a processing fee of Rs. 600 deducted by the branch. However, the first round of verification was conducted for only 2–3 hours a day, and many eligible applicants were rejected by the field officer without clear justification, the beneficiaries alleged.
They further expressed disappointment over the delay in conducting the second round of verification and urged the concerned authorities to take prompt action. The group emphasized that the loan component was essential for upgrading their businesses and fulfilling the objectives of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme.
Appealing to the regional authorities and scheme implementers, the beneficiaries called for serious attention to the matter and requested immediate resolution to ensure fair access to the scheme’s benefits.
