Anglers Association Mokokchung (AAM) in partnership with the department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Mokokchung organized a ‘Fish Sales Day’ at the MMC Shopping Complex on Thursday. The sales day was organized as a welfare initiative considering the fish scarcity in the district, and not for profit — sold at the market rate of Rs. 250 per kg. Around 400 kilos of local fish arranged and sourced from local fishery ponds sold out very quickly. The organizers have informed the public that the same kind of initiative will be organized in the future also. The department as well as the AAM have encouraged local fish farmers to undertake such initiatives to maximise their profits by organizing such sales in the days to come.
