Lok Sabha on April 20 condoled the passing away of Rano M Shaiza, who was a member of Sixth Lok Sabha. Rano Shaiza, Nagaland’s first and only woman Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), passed away on April 1, 2015 at Kohima at the age of 86.
During Obituary references, Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan informed the house about the sad demise of Rano Shaiza, who was a member of the committee on petitions during the Sixth Lok Sabha.
“An educationist by profession, Mrs. Shaiza was associated with a number of women, children and youth associations and strove for spread of education,” LS speaker informed.
The house deeply mourned the demise of former member and conveyed condolences to the bereaved family.
