Lok Sabha elections: Training for counting officers; information

Training for the counting officials for the 18th Lok Sabha elections 2024 was held across the state, wherein officials were trained on how to operate Control Unit (CU), Voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) and Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).


The Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and District Election Officers (DEOs) have notified training for concerned officials of respective districts. All concerned have been directed to attend the training without fail, failing which disciplinary action shall be taken under relevant sections of the Election laws.
Mokokchung: DC and DEO Mokokchung has informed that final training for Assistant Returning Officers (AROs), counting officials and staff on June 3, 1 p.m. at Town Hall, Mokokchung.


Dimapur: DC and DEO Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang has informed that second round of training for micro observers to counting observer, tabulators, counting supervisors, counting assistants, micro observers for counting, MTS for EVM transportation would be held on June 3, 11 a.m. at the Conference Hall, DC Dimapur office.


Kohima: DC and DEO Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant has informed that second round of training for all officials/staff appointed as counting supervisors, counting assistants, tabulators and counting micro-observers has been scheduled on June 3 at Conference Hall, DC Office Kohima.


Tseminyu: Training for counting supervisors, counting assistants and micro-observers was held on June 1 at Town Hall, Tseminyu, wherein DC and DEO Tseminyu, Rohit Singh, highlighted the election procedure and asked the officials to reach the counting hall by 7 a.m. on the counting day. He also urged the counting officials to be well prepared as instructed during the training sessions.


Mon: The second phase of training for counting officials was conducted on June 1 at Town Council Hall, Mon, wherein, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Mon, K. Temjennaro Longkumer, briefed the roles and responsibility of the counting officials. She said, although zero voting was reported in the district, everything would be done in a procedure.


Zunheboto: A training for counting officials was held on June 1 at Town Hall, Zunheboto. Kiphire: The training of counting personnel was held on May 31 at the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Conference Hall, Kiphire, wherein DC Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumer, encouraged all the polling personnel to be cautious and alert while performing duties on the counting day. He asked them to ensure that the EVM data output matched the voter-turnout data.
