Longchem town citizens decry absence of EAC

The citizens of Longchem town have expressed displeasure over the absence of extra assistant commissioner (EAC) at Longchem town “most of the time”.

In a press release, Longchem town citizens’ body convenor T. Kalu Lkr and secretary L Yanger Longchar informed that the general public of Longchem town held two general meetings on September 28, 2024 and October 12, 2024 and thoroughly discussed about EAC’s “irregularities in discharging his duties” and decided to seek the help of the higher authority for reprimanding him.
The signatories claimed that even after their appeal to the higher authority there had been no positive outcome till date.

They stated that since EAC remained out of station for most of the time, his office remained mostly closed causing inconveniences to the villagers under his jurisdiction, especially those who come from far flung villages to meet him for official purposes.
Among other issues raised by, the signatories also claimed that the EAC “never extends his co-operation” to the general public, but “he does as its best suited for him without showing any sympathy to the people.”
In the light of the above, Longchem town citizens have appealed to the state government to transfer him, saying they “do not need such an irresponsible officer” in their area.
