The Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Longjang Senso Mungdang (LSM) got underway here at Longjang village under Mokokchung district this evening. The jubilee celebration is held under the theme “Shilu-Satsü (Introspection)”. The Longjang Officers’ Forum is the chief guest of the jubilee (Tesenteper Tongtipur).
The inaugural program this evening was marked by unfurling of LSM flag followed by the presentation of anthem by the 9th Zunga. The opening act of the jubilee was presented by Longjang Senso Telongjem Mokokchung.
The program also witnessed the paying of homage to the departed souls while the jubilee prayer was led by pastor, Longjang Baptist Church, Rev. L. Tarep. The prayer point included a thanksgiving to the Almighty for bringing thus far and to ask blessings for the future.
Meanwhile, the Dimapur Longjang Senso Telongjem presented a special song after which the Jubilee Souvenir was released by the convener, Editorial Board. The message for the evening was delivered by Rev. P. Anung who spoke about the word of God from the theme of the jubilee.
He called upon the villagers to seek the kingdom of God first and to obey God so that the village prosper in the days to come. He also prayed that the village be in prosperity through the celebration of this jubilee for which God is the only answer.
He further called upon the people to rebuild the land and reclaim the past glories the village had and hoped that there would be blessing for the villagers through the celebration of this jubilee as it marks a new era into the progress and development of the land. The program also witnessed the felicitation of past officers of LSM who has served the LSM from 1965-2015. Earlier in the program, the oldest and the youngest (both male and female) of the village were felicitated.
