Two Police Stations non-functional after upgrade
The Longleng District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held under the chairmanship of DC Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtam on November 8 at the DC’s conference hall.
A DIPR report stated that while reviewing the last meeting the board rectified the verification committee for the Local Area Development Program. The board also discussed the Police force shortage in the district and the non-functioning of Tamlu and Yonglok Police stations after they were upgraded. Superintendent of Police Longleng, Yangba Konyak informed the members that the Police Force strength in the district was the same now under the SP as when Longleng was under an SDPO. He reported that Tamlu and Yonglok stations were non-functional due to shortage of NGOs like inspectors, sub-inspectors and ASIs although basic facilities and infrastructure development had been completed. Based on the status report and grievances of the Police force in the district, the board recommended that the matter be forwarded to the concerned authority.
Ekoni Humtsoe ADS, Longleng gave a slide-show presentation on departmental activities of the Food & Civil Supplies. The medical superintendent of District Hospital Longleng, on behalf of the medical fraternity, lauded the DC, John Tsulise Sangtam, ADC Temsuwati, PWD (R&B) Longleng Division, the chamber of commerce, the Phom Students’ Conference and the Phomla Hoichem for contribution towards improvement and development of the district hospital.
The board also recommended the construction of a new office building of District Culture Office Longleng after it was brought up by Mapeudibe DCO, Longleng. The DC also asked the members to fix a date and venue for the next DPDB meeting & Advent Christmas 2018 after consultation with the DPDB chairman.
