Commissioner and secretary Rural Development, Neposo Theluo on Saturday inaugurated the Losami Community building at Ledepfii, Losami village under Phek district constricted under MGNREGA.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Neposo urged the villagers to actively engage in the farming activities to boost the rural economy.
He also urged the gathering to settle in village rather than in town and cities as many infrastructural developments have been made available in the rural areas.
Further, the commissioner and secretary also called upon the village leaders to propagate the message to the villagers on the need to become self-reliant, adding one should not fully depend on the government for survival.
Deputy Commissioner Phek, Razouvolie Dozo and Phek DRDA project director Keyirangding Hegui also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, the function was presided by Losami VDB secretary Wepete Mekrisuh while Losami Village Council chairman Keziiwelo Akami delivered welcome address.
