Lotha bodies 5-day ultimatum to start two-lane road work

Lotha organisations have set a five-day deadline for starting work for the ongoing two-lane construction NH-2 (old NH-61) from KM 72.40 to KM 83.00 in Wokha district.

In an ultimatum to DC Wokha, Lotha Hoho chairman, Lotha Eloe Hoho president, Lotha Students’ Union, Wokha District Village Council Chairmen Association, Joint Action Committee convener and Wokha Town Colonies’ Chairmen Union, warned they would be compelled to launch indefinite bandh on the national highway passing through Wokha district if work does not begin within five days of publication of the ultimatum.

They pointed out that several discussions and negotiations on the issue had been pursued by various apex CSOs of the district and JAC all but to no avail. They, therefore, informed the Wokha district administration that the ultimatum was being served on the condition that no further negotiation(s)/deliberation(s) on the same should be entertained henceforth.
