Lotha Colony Council (LCC) has condemned the alleged assault on its council chairman and also the general secretary of Lotha Hoho Dimapur, Renathung Ezung, on August 8 by some miscreants at Circular Road Dimapur.
In a condemnation note, secretary LCC, K. Mhachio Odyuo, and head GB, Nvo Tungoe, stated that three “miscreants” in an unregistered bike pursued the victim’s car and tried to snatch the car key alleging the car “nearly hit the bike.” The victim clarified that no such situation occurred, and thinking the matter was solved, he went inside a shop to pay some bill during which one of the “miscreant” followed and assaulted him inside the shop, LCC claimed.
In this regard, LCC stated that “the flimsy tactics adopted by those miscreants in an unregistered bike targeting innocent victims in snatching their vehicles pose grave threat to the society which should be condemned by all.”
The council, while appealing the concerned authority to examine the CCTV footage of the shop which may help establish the identity and in apprehending them at the earliest, demanded that befitting punishment as per the law be awarded to the miscreants.
