On the occasion of Tokhu Emong, Lotha Hoho Dimapur chairman, Etsungmomo Kikon unfurled the Hoho’s flag at Lotha Hoho Ki, here on Tuesday. After unfurling the flag in the presence of former Hoho members and well wishers, Kikon extended Tokhü Emong greetings to the Lotha community and expressed hope that peace and unity would prevail among the Lothas.
He also sought God’s blessings for the Lotha community. Also speaking on the occasion, ex-Lotha Hoho Dimapur chairman, Y. K. Ovung called upon the community to preserve the identity, that is the culture and mother tongue. He also suggested to the Hoho to come out with their own anthem and stressed on the need to protect and safeguard the culture and tradition from misuse. A one minute silent prayer was also observed in honour of the departed leaders and elders. Earlier, the flag was dedicated with a prayer by associate pastor Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur, Rev. Chumben Kyong. A special prayer seeking blessings for all the Lotha community on the occasion of Tokhu Emong was offered by pastor Lotha Assembly of God, Dimapur, Rev. Thebemo Lotha. The programme was chaired by Hoho vice chairman, Lichio Kithan.
