Lotha Hoho, Wokha, officials led by its chairman, Mhao Humtsoe, along with Kohima Lotha Hoho officials, elders from Dimapur and NFHRCC general secretary, visited Ralan area, on January 30. The visiting team inspected the site for construction of NFHR bridge over Doyang river at Ralan. Later, the Lotha Hoho convened consultative meeting with the public of Ralan area at Governor Camp, Liphanyan, in which the members deliberated on Assam- Nagaland border as well as for speedy implementation of the NFHR construction. Lotha Hoho, in particular, has urged upon the concerned authorities of the state government to do its utmost to protect the sanctity of the Nagaland state boundary line, at all points, throughout the entire Assam-Nagaland boundary. While viewing that Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) was for protecting the status of the Assam- Nagaland Boundary, the Lotha Hoho felt that the SOP has been prejudicial and discriminatory to Nagaland. In this regard, the Hoho has urged the state government to take up the matter with the Home Ministry, GOI, for changing the chairman of SOP to be replaced by a neutral force directly under MHA and to have equal representation from both states. Hoho also said that Nagaland must also give aid to the displaced Naga families immediately. Lotha Hoho further urged upon the state government to expedite the construction and early commissioning of the foothill road.
