Lotha Students’ Union general conference enters second day

The second day of the 52nd Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) general conference began with the inauguration of the monolith stone and hoisting of the Lotha Students’ Union flag by Advisor Horticulture & Border Affairs Government of Nagaland, Mhathung Yanthan, as the special guest.
Speaking at the event, Yanthan encouraged the union to have social gatherings to discuss on the current issues expressing that formation of every union or an association is set through determination and challenges and leading a community in the general interest. He said that “take home message” for the conference was to have a positive outcome, stating that the world is changing and that everyone has to adapt to the fast-changing world and also grow along with it.
Yanthan also urged the union to take a brainstorming session about the issues, challenges since everyone is educated, intellectual and enlightened, while also encouraging them to conduct gatherings to bring change and also to do something good.
He advised the students to look at how other people see them, whether they are standing in the truth or are they wavering around and also to choose leaders who are able to fulfil their duties and responsibilities.
He also asked the students to take Lotha Students’ Union seriously because the Lotha community is also counted as one of the important tribes in Nagaland. The advisor appealed the students to not let the students’ organization be politicized.
Yanthan said that one’s identity is determined by their land, fields and language, expressing that one’s roots and identity are found in their own land. “We should also learn from our ancestors about the manners and good deed and that is our identity”, he said.
During the programme chairman Lotha Hoho, president Naga Council Dimapur, president Naga Students’ Federation and chairman Ralan Area Lotha Hoho delivered a short speech. Earlier, monolith stone was dedicated by Rev. John Ovung.
In the afternoon session, Lichan Humtsoe the founder & CEO, Ete Coffee the theme speaker shared his life experience speaking on the theme “People of the land must become the brand”.
