Reiterating to its earlier resolution, the Lerie Panchayat Kohima (LPK) has prohibited partying, playing of loud music, consumption of intoxicating substances, immoral activity etc within its jurisdiction.
In a press release, chairman LPK, Dr. Ilang stated that any individual/groups caught red handed violating the existing ban will be penalised with a fine of Rs. 5,000 and their name(s) along with details of their default will be published in local papers.
LPK said that despite the existing ban published in local papers, and the notice regarding the same being vividly displayed in “signboard”, individuals and groups from other colonies of Kohima town were still found violating the aforementioned strictures demeaning LPK.
Therefore, the LPK has viewed the questionable act as direct challenge to its authority.
Further, Lerie Panchayat Kohima once again cautioned all individuals/groups to put an end to the menace and refrain from these sorts of ongoing unhealthy, objectionable and avoidable practices in best interest of all stakeholders concerned with immediate effect, so as to avoid any unwarranted situations.
Failure to comply with the resolution will attract appropriate punitive action from Lerie Panchayat Kohima, the release stated.
