Lotha Public Organisation (LPO) has served 15-day ultimatum on the Lotha Hoho (LH) to reconstruct and reselect a new team of office bearers by following proper guidelines.
In a press release, LPO chairman Sulanthung Humtsoe and general secretary Zaremo Kikon cautioned that failure to comply with its ultimatum, the LPO would function as “full-fledged independent organisation” as mandated with the interest and support of 94 displeased villages.
The signatories alleged that selection process of the current LH team was “unjust, unfair and lack transparency” as the pro-tem speaker did not allow any representatives from any Lotha villages to speak out rights and opinions.
LPO claimed that the representatives who were present on the selection day were not even given time and chance to mandate their leaders during December 3, 2018 installation process.
“Therefore, the selection process is not valid and authentic and the current LH team is not mandated according to our age-old traditions of consensus in all the decision making process,” LPO stated.
Further, LPO reiterated that the selection and installation process of the current LH team was “totally preoccupied and stage-managed.”
