As Nagaland prepares for the lone Lok Sabha seat poll on April 19, meetings and training are conducted for a smooth and peaceful election.
Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and District Election Officers (DEOs), Additional Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Assistant Election Officers (AEOs) have issued information for the ensuing election.
Zunheboto: A consultative meeting with Dobashis (DBs) of Zunheboto district was convened by the DC and DEO Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali at Town Hall, Zunheboto, Saturday.
According to a DIPR report, Mali asked the DBs to prepare for a free and fair Lok Sabha election, and requested for their cooperation.
He said DBs are the foot soldiers of the administration and so advised them to always remember that they are government servant and so warned them for campaigning or involving in politics and warned that if one wants to actively participate in politics then one should leave their service first.
Delivering a short speech, EAC(HQ), Mopling M Phom, educated the DBs about the various Do’s and Don’ts of the DBs, their rights and about various ways in which they can help the help the public.
Dimapur: To ensure smooth conduct of the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha Elections, DC and DEO Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang held a meeting with the AROs and nodal officers on Saturday and highlighted pertinent issues with regard to Lok Sabha electoral preparations in the district.
Chang said the meeting was to streamline the coordination between various administrative bodies and stakeholders involved in the electoral process. He also emphasised the significance of meticulous planning and coordination for ensuring successful conduct of the elections.
During the meeting, various aspects relating to election management, security arrangements, voter awareness campaigns, and logistics were discussed in detail.
AEO, Toshimongba Longchar, informed that essential service personnel and another group facilitated by AVSC by AVPD would be casting their votes through postal ballots from April 8-10 at DC’s Office. He informed that the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) commissioning has been scheduled for April 8-9, 9 a.m. onwards at the DCs office. Longchar also confirmed the activation of a Control Room for supervising and managing the election proceedings effectively.
In a move towards ensuring transparency and operational readiness, webcasting training has been scheduled for April 8 and a mock drill/dry run has been planned for April 9 to identify and address any potential issues before the official voting day.
