Election Commission of India (ECI) officials on Wednesday arrived Nagaland on a two-day visit to review the poll preparedness of upcoming Parliamentary Election, 2024.
In a press release, chief electoral officer (O) Ruokuovituo Khezhie informed that ECI officials comprising of principal secretary Arvind Anand and secretary Santosh Kumar Dubey would also undertake field verification of Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls with reference to January 1, 2024, first level checking (FLC) of EVM & VVPAT machines.
On arrival, ECI officials conducted separate review meetings with DEOs, EROs, AEROs, supervisors and BLOs of Dimapur, Chumoukedima and Kohima district on October 11, 2023.
ECI officials are scheduled for field visit to various polling stations in Kohima town on October 12, 2023 followed by a review meeting with all the district election officers at Hotel Japu Kohima from 10am onwards and inspection of FLC activities in Kohima and Tseminyu districts in the afternoon.
