LSU conducts file handing-taking programme

CorrespondentWOKHA MAR 20 (NPN):

The Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) conducted its file handing-taking programme for the 2026–2029 tenure at the LSU office, Wokha, on March 20.
Chairman of Lotha Hoho, Er. Mhondamo Ovung, attended the programme and congratulated the new team, encouraging them to work for the welfare of the student community. He noted that while LSU has been serving the interests of the Lotha community as a civil society organisation, there is growing concern over the expenses incurred during student elections. He suggested adopting a nomination system in the future, similar to other civil society organisations in the district, to ease financial burdens and enable leaders to focus more on student welfare.
Outgoing president, Lirhonthung E. Kithan, in his farewell address, stated that they did their best during their tenure, while also acknowledging his limitations and expressing regret for not being able to achieve more.
He, however, expressed confidence in the new president, S. Zubenthung Ngullie, and his team, wishing them success in serving the welfare of the Lotha and Naga communities.
The newly inducted team assured to work diligently for the welfare of the students and the Lotha community, while also calling for unity.
