Lt. Ketsovole Kire Award 2025 conferred to Longshibeni

School of Nursing (SON), Naga Hospital authority Kohima (NHAK) convocation cum 22nd Lt. Ketsovole Kire award ceremony (2021-24) was held at Auditorium NHAK on Tuesday. On the occasion, Longshibeni K Patton was conferred the Lt. Mrs. Ketsovole Kire award.


The award, established in 2002 by the family of the late Ketsovole Kire to recognize academic excellence among General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) students, was presented by Dr. Mereninla Senlem, Principal Director, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare.


In his address, Senlem expressed gratitude to the family of late Ketsovole Kire for the award which encourage students to strive for excellence.
She emphasized that healthcare was a noble profession acknowledging that while doctors play a vital role, along with them the nurses are the backbone of the healthcare community.


Senlem urged the nurses to rededicate themselves to their work highlighting the high demand for Northeast nurses abroad due to their exceptional soft skills. She called upon them to give their best to the community and the healthcare sector, reinforcing the importance of dedication and service.


Speaking on behalf of the family, K.Kire (Retd.DGP), shared about his mother and her journey during her service as nurses and encouraged the nurses to work hard and give their best in what they do.


Managing Director NHAK Dr. M. Margaret Yhome highlighted exhorted the program.
NHAK Chaplain Vikepu Tepa blessed the program with bible reading and prayer.
Principal SON NHAK S. Tiakala Longkumer delivered the welcome address.


Presentation of certificate was led by Joint Director Nursing Directorate of H&FW Kepelhoutseiu Suohu. Nursing Tutor SON NHAK Khoshelu K Khamo led the nurses’ pledge.
