After waiting for months to receive a positive response from Airtel to its letter seeking improvement in mobile network and internet connectivity in Longleng district, activists of Longleng Town Students’ Union (LTSU) sealed the telecom company’s office here on Friday for an indefinite period.
Speaking to Nagaland Post, union’s executive chairman T Yongnyu Mosa Phom said the student body had on July 15 sent a letter to officials of Airtel inviting them to a meeting scheduled on July 19 to discuss the issue of poor mobile network.
He, however, regretted that till Friday, the telecom company not only did not bother to pay any heed to the union’s letter, but even didn’t respond to telephonic calls by its leaders on several occasions.
Having no other option, Phom said LTSU was compelled to take its own course of action by sealing Airtel’s office and network tower till the network problem issue was resolved.
He requested the general public to cooperate with the steps taken by the union until the problem was resolved.
