Luzheto village attains 50 years

In commemoration of its golden jubilee of village and church, the Luzheto village, under Kuhuboto area carried out various developmental activities in the village.

A press release by Luzheto Village Council and jubilee planning committee stated that, villagers had construted village gate, children’s park to mark the year-long jubilee celebration. Also coinciding with the 58th Nagaland statehood day and as part of jubilee celebration, villagers organised advent Christmas programme, which witnessed bonfire and presentation of various cultural items and feast on December 1. 

Speaking on the occasion of advent Christmas, former councillor of Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) and resident of Luzheto village, Pukhavi Yepthomi shared the joy of Christmas and jubilee celebrations. He said that the true meaning of Christmas and jubilee was when people come together and share the joy, giving glory to the creator of heaven and earth. 

He acknowledged the tireless effort of jubilee planning committee led by Khekiye Yepthomi for initiating various activities to mark the historic celebration of the village. 

It may be mentioned that earlier this year, minister of PHED, Jacob Zhimomi, inaugurated the village gate while advisor of Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs, Zhaleo Rio inaugurated the tower of children’s park. 

Chairman of jubilee planning committee, Khekiye Yepthomi said that village as a whole had been very particular in ensuring the practice of all precautionary measures of COVID-19 pandemic. 

Er. Khutovi Murumi led the bonfire and highlighted the significance of the fire in the programme chaired by Botoi Yepthomi.
