WOKHA, JUL 21 (NPN): Lotha Youth Hoho (LYH) has barred two women from entering Wokha district for five years after they were allegedly found selling drugs during a surprise checking operation in Wokha town.
According to LYH, the two women, identified as Aien and Lochilo, were apprehended during the checking carried out in collaboration with Church Colony Youth and Tsumang Youth. A meeting was subsequently held at the LYH office on July 21, where the organisation found the duo guilty and imposed a five year ban on their entry into the district.
LYH stated that a written notification is usually issued to the concerned colony representatives or village authorities whenever an individual is barred, to ensure awareness of the restriction. It appealed to the public to report any barred individuals found re entering the district so that further action could be taken.
The organisation also warned drug peddlers to refrain from engaging in the illegal trade and urged those involved to reform before facing action.
Expressing gratitude to Lotha Hoho, civil society organisations and the public for their continued support, LYH said it would persist in its drive against drug related activities as long as it receives cooperation from the people. It further appealed to the public to continue supporting its efforts to keep Wokha free from drugs.
