WOKHA, MAY 23 (NPN): Lotha Youth Hoho (LYH) convened a consultative meeting on Saturday with its office bearers and individuals suspected of involvement in drug peddling activities in Wokha district.
During the meeting, the organisation identified two individuals, Nyanthung and Edward, as allegedly involved in the sale of drugs.
In line with its earlier resolution against drug peddling, LYH directed the duo to leave Wokha district by May 26 and barred them from entering the district for five years.
Reaffirming its stand against drug abuse and the illegal drug trade, LYH said it would continue conducting surprise inspections across the district and warned that anyone found engaged in drug peddling would face similar action. The organisation also appealed to those involved to give up the practice and reform.
LYH further informed that some individuals had voluntarily approached the organisation, admitted their involvement, and assured that they would discontinue such activities. It encouraged others to come forward and surrender before stricter action is initiated under its resolution.
Expressing appreciation to civil society organisations for their support and cooperation, LYH urged continued collective efforts to combat drug abuse and eradicate the menace from Wokha district.
