
On October 1, a rally on the upcoming Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign (M-RVC) was organised by the District Health Society in collaboration with students of Vidhya Bhawan School, Dimapur to create awareness about the campaign. The upcoming campaign is slated to kick off from October 3 and is targeting children between the ages of 9 months to 15 years of age for vaccination to eliminate Measles and control Rubella.
According to a press release by RCH-UIP, district program officer, Dr. Rebecca Y. Sema, the awareness rally commenced from the Chief Medical Officer’s Office Dimapur and culminated at City Tower Junction.
The student hoisted banners and raised placards to support the campaign and to create awareness on the M-RVC. The students also distributed IEC materials about the campaign to shopkeepers and passersby.
The rally was led by staff under CMO Office and two teachers of Vidhya Bhawan School. More than 100 students took part in the rally.
The students included members of Health Club, Adolescent Girls Club, ECO Club, Bharat Scouts & Guides and Junior Red Cross Unit.
