M-RVC team meet DC Wokha

The Preparatory Assessment Team for Wokha district on the Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign (M-RVC) led by consultant for UNICEF representing GOI, Daya Singh and WHO SMO, Dr. Sheila Longkumer held a short briefing session with Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, on September 13 at his office chamber. According to DIPR, the team apprised the DC about the implementation policy of the M-RVC which will kick start from October 3.

To ensure that not a single child misses out on immunization, the department is doing all the needful exercises of collecting detailed figures and targets for which the team has already covered Bhandari, Sanis, Chukitong and Wozhuro Block, the team told the DC.

During the interaction the DC requested the team to conduct meetings with ASHA and Anganwadi workers so that actual data could be collected for success of the campaign. Samoon also stated that community awareness was very important for which all stalk holders, NGOs, churches, schools and public need to be sensitized before the start of the campaign.

Beside the UNICEF team, the meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Wokha, Dr. Robin Mozhui, DPRO Wokha other medical officers.
