Machine and toolkits distributed under GVY

Chairman, Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Manoj Kumar on Friday distributed 100 Electric Pottery Wheels, 20 Agarbatti pedal operated machinery, 20 Handmade & Dona Making machinery & equipment, under Gramodyog Vikas Yojana (GVY), at Ao Senden Riju, Purana Bazar, Dimapur.


Addressing beneficiaries and officials, Kumar highlighted the remarkable progress in the KVI sector, attributing the success to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said the sector has seen a turnover surpassing Rs. 1.34 lakh crore and creation of over 9.50 Lakh new jobs, which was a testament to the government’s dedication to the welfare of Khadi artisans.
Kumar also emphasized the transformative shift from job seekers to job providers in the past decade.
Kumar said this was his first visit to the state during his 20-month tenure as chairman and informed that he had visited all others states.
Kumar further informed that Khadi commission schemes would reach every corner of the state.


On the request by chairman, Nagaland Khadi Village Industries Board (NKVIB), Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsu, regarding funding for Khadi Plaza Nagaland, he assured to take up the issue as the first agenda in the next commission meeting, and the establishment of Khadi Plaza Nagaland, as his priority. He also pledged to engage with the state government for the swift implementation of the plaza.
Delivering a short speech, chairman, NKVIB, Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsu, dwelled on the long pending funding of the Khadi Plaza Nagaland, pointing out that after its initial funding in 2010, the plaza had not received any further funding so far. He thereby requested the KVIC Chairman to look into the issue.


Dr Keditsu said that Nagaland has so many young entrepreneurs, and that the completion of the Plaza would go a long way, especially the young artisans.
It can be noted that the beneficiaries were primarily from Dimapur, and some from Pughoboto area.
Meanwhile, it can be noted that the venue was surrounded by plastic banners and portraits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with around 59 plastic banners and 21 portraits.
