Maj. Gen. Pradeep C Nair on Saturday took over as the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North) from the incumbent, Maj. Gen. Sanjay Gupta.
Commissioned into the 18th Sikh regiment in December 1985, Maj. Gen. Nair is an alumnus of Sainik School Satara, National Defence Academy and Indian Military Academy. He had earlier served in Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur and Assam and had commanded a Brigade in Manipur. The outgoing officer wished Nair a professionally satisfying and successful tenure as IGAR (N).
