Konyak Students’ Union (KSU) has appealed to the state government to make Model College at Wakching under Mon District fully functional starting this academic session.
KSU president T Noklem Konyak and general secretary A Pangnan stated that foundation stone of the Model College was laid on June 27, 2015 and inaugurated on February 3, 2019, but the college remained non-functional till date.
KSU has expressed dismay at the “blatant negligence” on the part of the state government and the department. Even after submitting several representations by KSU and Eastern Nagaland College Students’ Union (ENCSU), the union said that the government has turned a blind eye to the issue. The union has, therefore, urged the government to immediately intervene and make the college functional.
