Malaria elimination driveheld in Noklak Villages

DIMAPUR

District Health Authority Noklak conducted an awareness campaign on malaria elimination at Old Pangsha, New Pangsha, Wonthoi and Dan Villages on August 4 in their respective Council Halls.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Victor Lam sensitised the villagers on malaria symptoms, treatment protocols, and the importance of elimination efforts.
District Epidemiologist Dr. Kumkiuba highlighted preventive measures and stressed the role of community participation in disease control.
DPM Noklak, C. Hosea N. Lam, briefed participants on activities under NVBDCP in the district.
The medical team led by Khrolo DM, Lam SW and Pukha MTS conducted screening of attendees in all the villages.
According to DIPR report, three malaria cases were detected last month from Pangsha area. Endomological studies confirmed the presence of vectors for Malaria, Dengue and Japanese Encephalitis (JE).
