Malaria elimination programme was launched on November 8 under the theme “end malaria for good” in a programme held at the conference hall of the chief medical officer (CMO) Tuensang. While launching the programme, deputy commissioner & chairman (DHS) Tuensang, Jamithung Lotha said that health hygiene played a vital role and that everyone should do blood test.
He also encouraged the health workers to work harder to fully eliminate malaria cases from Tuensang district by 2024, as per the targets set by the government. District epidemiology was presented by Tosoviho, DVBO (NVBDCP) and consultant (NVBDCP) with a power-point presentation regarding the mission achieved and the targets set to eliminate the malaria cases throughout the state by 2024.
The programme was chaired by Dr. T. Pangjung Sangtam, chief medical officer Tuensang. Vote of thanks was delivered by Nokching Somba malaria inspector. Altogether, 60 health workers from different vertical programmes attended the function.
