A debut gospel music album by Maleate titled “Telling the world about his love” was released on March 11 by Rev. Dr. Rachulie Vihienuo, Executive Director, ABCC at De Oriental Grand, Kohima. The album contains ten songs- five songs in English and five in Tenyidie, Directed by Neitseizonuo Liezietsu.
Speaking at the launching event, Rev Dr Vihienuo said the church has a huge role to play in the promotion of gospel-music and to make best use of the talents of its members. Liezietsu expressed the need to have Christian Music Awards in the state to recognize the Christian music quality and standards.
He also spoke about Maleate and the project stating that it started in 2020 during lockdown and said it means ‘A component of salt’ and intends to brighten the world, interpreting the biblical usage of salt to be the light of the world. He informed that the members Maleate group comprises of – Kekhrieyie Belho, Khrietsonyu Whuorie, Viketouca Belho, Vilakienyu Liezietsu, Kevidezo Suokhrie, Mharavizo Kesiezie, Ruguokhrietuo Mepfhuo and Petsüsetuo Liezietsu.
Over the years the group was known to have performed at Church services, Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya’s farewell programme, All India Radio (AIR) Kohima, Bollywood production web series Paatal Lok, among other events and functions.
Music were arranged by Mhaseve K Tetseo, Khriesazo Liezietsu and Neilhoumenuo Kesiezie; photographed by Albert Rutsa and Seyie Suohu, graphics by Kekuoseto Sachu and supported by Dr Kenei Miachiao.
The songs were recorded, mixed and mastered at Pro Audio Hub in Kohima.
The album release programme was led by Dr. Ruokuovilie Sachü, Pastor, Khedi Baptist Church and elderly blessing was pronounced by Medoselhou Keretsu and vote of thanks was proposed by Khrietsonyu Whuorie.
