To express displeasure over the failure of the school education department and the state government to post a Head Assistant (HA) at the Sub Divisional Education Officer (SDEO) office Mangkolemba, the Mangkolemba Ao Lanur Telongjem (MALT) as resolved earlier sealed the office of SDEO Mangkolemba on September 28.
In a press release, media cell, MALT, stated that its proposed indefinite sealing of the SDEO office was suspended in the evening after signing an agreement between the MALT, ADC, SDPO and the Mangkolemba ad hoc town committee. The agreement was made after receiving assurance of posting HA from the state government through the ADC, Mangkolemba.
MALT stated that it has called off the agitation till October 15, 2016. It, however, cautioned that failure on the part of the state government to fulfil its demand, MALT would resume the agitation “with more vigor” until HA was posted.
