TQ Audio organized “Unplugged – Battle of the Bands” at T.T. Garden, Mokokchung, bringing together music enthusiasts and supporters from across the district for an evening of acoustic performances and friendly competition.
According to a press release, the event featured seven bands, each showcasing their musical abilities through a mix of original compositions and cover songs.
The competition aimed to provide a platform for emerging artists to express their creativity, engage with audiences, and promote the growing culture of live music in Nagaland.
After an impressive display of talent, Man Four’s emerged as the champion of the competition. The band impressed the judges with their original composition, “Aoli Sanger,” along with a captivating cover performance. As winners, Man Four’s received a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, sponsored by travel agency entrepreneur and content creator Vishal Agarwal. The band also secured an opportunity to perform at one of the upcoming events organized by the Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA).
The Most Promising Band award was presented to Side Part from Kohima in recognition of the band’s potential, musicianship, and stage presence. The award carried a cash prize of Rs. 5,000, sponsored by Temsujung Photography.
Individual awards were also presented to outstanding performers in various categories. Tiakumla of Schrödinger’s Cat won the Best Vocalist award, while Maong of Man Four’s was named Best Guitarist. Anok of Schrödinger’s Cat received the Best Bassist award. Wati Jamir of Jack in the Box was awarded Best Percussionist, and Imtimar Jamir of Jack in the Box was named Best Keyboardist.
The event highlighted the vibrant music scene in Nagaland and provided a valuable platform for local musicians to showcase their talent and connect with a wider audience.
