Manhandling of ADC Peren condemned; Jalukie organizations apologize

Several organizations have condemned the “manhandling” of ADC Peren, Keyirangding Hegui allegedly by a group of youths on October 21. Jalukie: Jalukie ‘B’ village council, Jalukie ‘B’ Mipui Ma organization and Jalukie ‘B’ youth organization in a joint condemnation note have strongly denounced the “regrettable incident” occurred on the night of October 21, during which some young individuals assaulted the ADC Peren and his driver in the village under the influence of alcohol.


In view of the incident, the organizations conducted an emergency meeting to ensure that the recurrence of such incidents were prevented and apologized for tarnishing not only the village’s reputation but also the entire district.


Meanwhile, the organizations appealed to relevant authorities to ensure that the wrongdoers faced appropriate consequences for their rebellious actions and justice be served. They also reminded all residents that committing such acts would face severe legal consequence.


In a condemnation note, Peren Town Youth Organization (PTYO) president, Ngautube R.Chamlak and general secretary, machi Reunim urged the law enforcement to book the culprits at the earliest and ensure justice at the earliest.


The organization has called upon all the right thinking citizens to condemn such heinous act and appealed to all concern that such was not “recurrent” in the future. PYPT: Peren Youth Peren Town (PYPT) while condemning the incident said that such incidents have no place in a civilized society and those “misfits must be taught a lesson for all to adhere to”.


In a condemnation note, PYPT president, Paul Hegui and general secretary, Rampauyi Ndang said that it was not a stray instance of frequent harassment in the vicinity of the area and demanded the rightful authority to adopt stringent laws so that youths did not disrepute the integrity of the village. The youth body also demanded that those “drunken vigilantes” must charge sheeted and punished them as per the law.


PGEU: Peren Government Employees’ Union (PGEU) in a condemnation note said that such “blatant irresponsible” action was not acceptable in a civilized and peace loving society and appealed to the law enforcing agencies to accord befitting punishment as per the provision of the law. The union also demanded that justice be delivered at the earliest.


ZSUN: Zeliang Student’s Union Nagaland (ZSUN), in a press release stated that the unwanted behavior have caused a “grave and overwhelmingly disreputable image” of the entire youth and students of the Zeliang community, which otherwise were known for the peace loving, modest and highly disciplined nature amongst all Naga tribes.


ZSUN therefore demanded that the perpetrators be befittingly punished in accordance with the law of the land to commensurate to their offence.
