DIMAPUR: Reinforcing its commitment towards healthcare awareness and emergency preparedness in Northeast India, Manipal Hospital EM Bypass, Kolkata, organised “Anveshana – Medical Education for Media” along with a CPR training and awareness session in Nagaland on Friday.
The programme featured leading specialists including Dr. Harsh Jain (Neurosurgery), Dr. Arya Chaudhuri (Cardiology), Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Emergency Medicine) and Dr. Arunava Roy (Gynaecologic Oncology), who discussed the rising burden of neurological emergencies, cardiovascular diseases, cancer care and the importance of timely emergency response.
The CPR training segment equipped participants with basic life support skills and emergency response techniques, emphasising the role of immediate intervention during cardiac emergencies before medical assistance arrives.
Highlighting neurological disorders, Dr. Jain noted the steady rise in stroke cases across Northeast India, stressing the need for early diagnosis and timely access to specialised neuro-care. Dr. Roy spoke on gynaecological cancers, underlining the importance of regular screening and early detection, while Dr. Chaudhuri emphasised that CPR administered within the first few minutes of cardiac arrest can significantly improve survival chances. Dr. Chakraborty added that community awareness and preparedness during emergencies could make a life-saving difference.
The event also witnessed the launch of the Media Privilege Card, aimed at offering journalists enhanced healthcare access and exclusive benefits across Manipal Hospitals’ facilities.
Manipal Hospitals stated that through initiatives like Anveshana, it seeks to strengthen healthcare awareness, preventive care, and community resilience across Nagaland and the wider Northeast region.
