Mannen meets law ministry officials

Advisor for law and justice and land revenue, T.N. Mannen, has requested the Ministry of Law and Justice to make specials dispensation to allow infrastructure funding of the customary court construction at village level as centrally sponsored scheme.


Mannen, who called on S.K.G Rahate, secretary law and justice ministry, along with his officials on September 31, 2023, discussed extending infrastructure development of the customary courts in the villages of the State in the line with the Gram Nyayalayas Act 2008, and amended in 2019 for extending to Nagaland and others tribal states of North East region. In a press release, senior PRO (IPR) Nagaland House New Delhi, Kuolie Mere, stated that the secretary assured to examine the request.


Advisor also reminded the Ministry for allowing to have the separate High Court for Nagaland at the earliest.
Meanwhile, the advisor also called on called on Ajay Tirkey, secretary, Department of Land Resource, Ministry of Rural Development in his office, New Delhi on August 29, 2023.


Advisor reviewed the digitalization scheme implementation in Nagaland with the secretary and his officials.
The ministry officials pointed out certain shortcomings in the reports submitted from Nagaland.
The officials asserted that, if necessary, they were ready to visit Nagaland and help its effective implementation. Details and guidelines of the project were also discussed.


Advisor thanked the ministry officials for their willingness to support the state.
He said senior officials from the state would visit the ministry for further discussion on various aspect of the scheme.
