Maoist Commander Killed in Sukma Encounter

Security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district neutralised PPCM Moochaki Kailash, a Maoist Section Commander carrying a ₹5 lakh bounty, during a gun battle in the Polampalli area on March 29.

The District Reserve Guard (DRG) launched the operation based on intelligence inputs, leading to an exchange of fire in the dense forest. After the encounter, Kailash’s body and a weapon were recovered. He was wanted in multiple cases, including civilian killings, attacks on security forces, and IED-related conspiracies.

Police officials confirmed no casualties among security personnel. Inspector General Sundarraj Pattilingam urged remaining Maoists to surrender, stressing that rehabilitation opportunities are closing soon.
