Mar 23 harassment case: Rengma Hoho lauds Konyak Union’s initiative

Rengma Hoho (RH) has extended gratitude to Konyak Union (KU) for their initiative and timely intervention in settling the March 23 harassment case.
In a press statement, RH president, Pollem Tep and general secretary, Sinhilo Thongseb stated that on March 23, Er. Thanyalo Kath SDO (Power), posted in Mon was allegedly summoned and detained by some miscreants from the GPRN/NSCN (U) at Mon.
RH said it appreciated the Konyak Union’s pivotal role in bringing the two parties together in the negotiating table and spearheading in amicably settling the case with deed of settlement, which the Hoho believed has satisfactorily rendered justice to its member, Er. Thanyalo Kath.
The Hoho hoped that the issue, being amicably settled with the timely intervention of the Konyak Union, will not reappear in any manner and that goodwill and mutual respect will prevail between the two parties; and no unwanted situations must arise to tarnish the image of any organization(s)/individual(s) and also that similar incidents will be avoided in the future by all concerned to promote a spirit of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.
RH said that any deviation from the terms agreed thereon will not be tolerated and appropriate action will be initiated against the defaulters.
In this regard, the Rengma Hoho cautioned that it will not tolerate any such incidents / harassment by any individual or group against its members and others alike.
