Marathon for ‘cleaner and healthier’ Tuli sub-division

‘Tuli Marathon 2015’ cum ‘Relay Cake Race’ was held at Tuli town January 2, where over one hundred young boys and girls enthusiastically participated. The event was jointly organized by the district election office (DEO), Mokokchung and Mokokchung district sports council on the theme “Cleaner and healthier Tuli Sub-Division.”
Marathon race was flagged off by deputy commissioner (DC) Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel at Tsudikong where 83 boys and 45 girls participated in both categories.
Flagging off the race, Sushil Kumar Patel expressed deep appreciation to ADC Tuli, Sentiwapang Aier and the public of Tuli town for organizing the event for the first time at Tuli.
He said the event would provide a platform to make Tuli a cleaner and healthier sub-division to live as they had made elaborate civic action plan to be carried out throughout the year.
Lauding enthusiastic participants at the marathon race, Patel urged upon boys and girls to make the Tuli marathon race as a launching pad to shine in the state and national levels.
In his short speech, ADC Sentiwapang Aier called upon the people of Tuli to be actively involved in their efforts to make Tuli sub division a cleaner and healthier. He sought involvement of Churches, NGOs and individuals in this venture.
Sushil Kumar also inaugurated the Nite Bazar and Musical carnival. At the inauguration programme, the oldest man and woman of Tuli town were honoured by presenting one blanket each.
It was followed by relay Cake Race from Assam Rifles camp to Tuli college.
During his stay at Tuli, DC also visited Nagaland Pulp & Paper Company (NPPC Ltd) and interacted with officials to acquaint himself with the ongoing revival process of the NPPC. He was accompanied by ADC Tuli and senior officers from the district.
