Marwari family member donates eye

A Marwari family residing in Dimapur has made voluntary eye donation to District Hospital Dimapur for which a brief “collection programme” was organized on February 29. The eye was donated by late Powan Patni (47).
In the programme, District Hospital Dimapur medical superintendent, Dr. C.W.Tungoe expressed gratitude to the family members of late Powan Patni for coming forward to donate the eye to the hospital.
Dr. Tungoe also called upon the NGOs to create awareness among the public on eye donation saying there was a need to change the mindset of the people. He also briefed on the need for donors to help the blind. 
The donation drive was conducted by eye surgeon, DHD Dr. Asonla Aying and her team in the presence of Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur, Dr. M.A. Wati, medical superintendent DHD, Dr. C.W.Tungoe and family members of Late Powan Patni.
