Mass social work carried out across Nagaland

In view of the Statehood Day on December 1 and the Hornbill Festival, mass social works were carried out on Tuesday in various districts and sub-divisional headquarters with the involvement of government employees and public.

Citizens of Dimapur in various colonies, wards and town area actively participated in the mass social work. The citizens collected wastes, rubble, foliage overgrowth, etc.

Kohima: In Kohima, the mass social work was conducted with the involvement of all the state government employees, the ward, colony and village functionaries and the public. According to a DIPR report, in a brief speech, deputy commissioner (DC) Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie exhorted the officers supplementing the suggestion from the chief minister stating that “it is a privilege to work in the district as an officer but the privilege also come with certain responsibilities”. In this regard DC underlined the importance of officers’ involvement in keeping the city clean with proper sanitation. Gregory also briefed the activities to oversee and coordinate with the community for the mass social work. Meanwhile, KMC administrator, EE PWD (R&B), EE PWD (housing), EE PWD (NH) provided logistics along with manpower.

Peren: The mass social work was conducted at district headquarter, Peren under the supervision of the Peren district administration. During the social work, all government employees carried out the drive in their respective office premises and surroundings.

Meanwhile, the drive was also conducted successfully at Tening, Jalukie, Ahthibung and Peren with respective administrative heads supervising the work.
