As part of monsoon preparedness, a mass social work was conducted across Nagaland on May 31, 2025.
Several organisations including government departments and residents joined in the mass social work to clean drainage systems, remove debris, trim overgrown vegetation, and dispose of plastic waste.
In Dimapur, the focus was primarily on clearing drainage systems. Citizens worked on cleaning their neighborhoods, while government staff maintained office premises. Health units, including the Chief Medical Officer’s Office, also contributed to the effort.
However, participation in town areas was lower than expected. The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) coordinated the collection of debris using designated trucks.
Meanwhile, Wokha district saw strong participation from residents and government officials. Deputy Commissioner Vineet Kumar and ADC Wokha Renbomo Ezung inspected various locations to oversee the progress of the clean-up.
While in Phek, the social work was conducted with active participation from government employees and general public.
This initiative highlighted the community’s commitment to maintaining cleanliness and addressing seasonal challenges ahead of the monsoon.
